On-Call/As-Needed Volunteer
Position Summary:  To help with As Needed Volunteer opportunities: helping with campus clean up in the spring, LEARN Words field day, event set up/clean up, organize classrooms or offices for special programs and other As Needed tasks. Hours/days vary with opportunities during the week and weekends in the daytime and evenings.

Special Events/Development Volunteer
Position Summary:  Seeking outgoing individuals to assist in varying capacities with our Development Team with special events and fundraising in support of Ada Jenkins Center: serving on the Gala committee, day of event volunteers as well as hosting or helping with third party fundraisers (consignment sales, Eat-Out for Ada, golf outing).  Hours/days vary with opportunities during the week and weekends in the daytime and evenings.

Community Awareness Volunteer
Position Summary:  Represent Ada Jenkins Center at local community events. In an effort to spread awareness of the Center and our Mission you will assist with table set up/break down, hand out brochures/staff business cards at community events (ex. Christmas in Davidson, Fall into Huntersville, Jazz in the Park, college and church engagement fairs etc.). Hours/days vary with opportunities during the week and weekends in the daytime and evenings.

Food Pantry – Stocking/Pantry Prep Volunteer
Position Summary: Sort donated food and grocery items, help restock shelves with food and grocery products, unload food and grocery products from trucks or vehicles, adhere to food safety guidelines. Must be 18 years of age or above. No students from high school. Background check required. Hours are Monday, 9:30am-12pm

Food Pantry – Donation Pick Up Volunteer
Position Summary: Coordinate pick-up details with Pantry Coordinator, pick up and transport donations from location to the pantry, unload donations on pantry shelves, Must be 18 years of age or above. No students from high school. Background check required. Morning hours vary throughout the month.

Food Pantry – Ready to Go Groceries Volunteer
Position Summary: Coordinate and assist with client-partner pickup of pre-ordered groceries. Once a week someone grocery shops from a client-partner’s list and packs groceries for client-partners who prefer the timing or convenience of simply picking up groceries that are ready and waiting for them. Volunteers are needed to distribute the groceries during pickup hours as client-partners arrive on site. Must be 18 years of age or above. One teen (ages 12 yrs +) may be assigned each shift with a parent/guardians supervision. Background check required. Hours: Every Monday, 4:30-7pm

Phlebotomist 
Position Summary:  Assist in operation of medical lab: draw blood samples collect and process urine samples, complete law paperwork as necessary; assist in cleaning medical equipment at the end of clinic. Hours are Thursday 5/6pm until 8/9pm. 

Bi-Lingual Dental Administrative Assistant
Position Summary:  Provide administrative assistance to dental clinic team ensuring successful operation of the dental clinic. Must be bi-lingual (Spanish – English). Hours vary on Tuesday & Wednesday 5-8:30pm in Huntersville and Friday 8:30-12:30pm in Davidson.

Housing Pal/As-Needed Volunteer
Position Summary:  Mentor, support and coach client-partners who working towards home ownership or who are new homeowners. Provide guidance on how to manage and maintain a household (ex. change air filters & batteries in smoke detectors, use coupons, cleaning schedule, coordinating a car pool, what to look for in a babysitters, how to maintain a lawn etc.) Assist with small/minor repairs as well as educate Client-Partner how to complete the repair (even learn together by talking with experts at Lowe’s or watching tutorials together. As Needed tasks. Hours/days vary with opportunities during the week and weekends in the daytime and evenings.

INTERNSHIP – Social Media
Position Summary: This position is intended to provide qualified individuals with an opportunity to learn through experience while working with the Community Awareness and Mission teams at the Ada Jenkins Center. In this position, the intern will apply the skills learned in school in a professional setting. The intern will gain a better understanding of how communications and social media play a vital role non-profits (fundraising, donor relations, volunteer recruitment and appreciation, event marketing etc.). Hours are flexible with a minimum of 5hrs/week and a 6 month commitment.
