The Ada Jenkins Center exists to help people create lasting solutions for economic stability

Serving residents of Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville

During our program year July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024

People

were served across all AJC programs (unduplicated)

Visits

to our Nourish Up food pantry providing 2, 232 people 115,880 lbs. of food

People

received emergency financial assistance for rent/mortgage, utilities, and/or childcare

Clients

participated in our Economic Mobility program, receiving tenancy education, connections with area housing, budget assistance, employment and training opportunities, and more

people

experiencing homelessness were connected with with resources or supplies to meet their critical needs

Students

were enrolled in our LEARN Works afterschool program and/or Camp LEARN Works summer program and received backpacks and school supplies

volunteers

contributed 8,664 hours to help tutor our students, deep-clean the food pantry and classrooms, make food deliveries, beautify the campus, and so much more.

Mrs. Ada Jenkins was committed to education and community — and we live her legacy every day, with services including adult and youth education, food pantry, case management (the only case managers north of Charlotte), and emergency financial support while funds are available. Whether someone wants to secure a better job, additional education, safer housing, or financial self-sufficiency, we are here to help. Our Center serves as a resource hub for families in Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville.
