Volunteer: Group Opportunities
Groups can assist by choosing a donation drive for The Ada Jenkins Center. If considering a donation drive, please keep in mind that The Center does not have the resources to pick up items, but would need items delivered to The Center between 9 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday.
- Hygiene Kits - To be given out to Pantry clients. See hygiene kit items.
- Book Drive – Children’s, Youth and Adult books for our book shelves for clients to take and utilize. This is a well-utilized resource for clients waiting to receive services at The Ada Jenkins Center.
- Food Drive – Please e-mail Binnie Neel for current Pantry needs.
- Pantry Supply Drive – Brown paper bags with handles, new gallon-sized zip lock bags, clear 13- gallon trash bags, egg cartons (used, but in reusable condition)
- Dog/Cat Food Drive – If you have an affinity for our four-legged friends, then bags of cat and dog food are needed by clients continuously.
- School Supply/Office Supply Drive - for our LEARN Works program and general office supply needs – copier paper (white and colored), notebook paper, pens (black & red), pencils, erasers, paperclips, flash drives
- Clothing Drive – for Lydia's Loft. These items would need to be delivered directly to Lydia's Loft. For more information, please contact Lydia's Loft at (704) 896-0471.
- Dental Kits – Toothpaste, toothbrush, floss (in adult and children sizes)
- Clinic Drive – hand sanitizer, wet Swiffer mopping pads, medical gloves that are non-latex (small, medium and large sizes), bottled water, black ink pens, rolls of paper towels, tri-fold stacked paper towels, over-the-counter (new and unopened) allergy and pain medications (examples: Tylenol, Advil, Zyrtec, Claritin).
Service Saturdays
Groups that would like to volunteer on-site in a variety of projects can participate in Service Saturdays from 9 am - noon.
