The following is a sample list of most needed items that will benefit families throughout the year. We encourage you to have FUN with this project and be as creative as you can. Challenge your groups to reach a certain number, compete with one another on teams, use catching pictures for your angels... remember imagination is one of the most precious and powerful gifts we have received.

  • A collection of funds to cover the cost of a family’s rent/utility/car or insurance payment. This way, necessities are paid for, thus allowing families the opportunity to personally select gifts for their children. Allowing guardians to participate in the selection of gifts gives them joy, dignity and empowerment. We all know the value in providing for our family, and we believe that the families we assist deserve the same. This allows them to have the additional funds they need to purchase Christmas gifts for their own children or other necessities.
  • A collection to cover the cost of Summer Camps. Without the ability to pay for camp, guardians quit their jobs during summer to care for their children or leave children unattended during that time. This money will remove this barrier, allowing adults to work and by providing children a safe educational environment.
  • A collection to provide transportation assistance for a family (gas cards or bus passes):
    • to get to and from work
    • to pick their children up at the LearnWorks afterschool program allowing them to get the educational support that is needed,
    • to go on job interviews
  • A collection to purchase healthy snacks for the LEARNWorks children. (Actual snacks can be collected if preferred.)
