Our Mission
The mission of the Latino Support Services department is to act as a bridge between the Latino community in our area and the multiple programs available through The Ada Jenkins Center, our partner agencies and other organizations. We strive to lessen the cultural and linguistic barriers that separate Latino families from the services they need by providing them with interpreters, translators, and program information, awareness and education.
Our services are free of charge or at a low cost.
Schedule: Monday - Friday » 9 am – 5 pm
* Most of our services require an appointment in order to have an interpreter available. Please call before coming by.
To participate in our programs, the first step is to attend our one-time New Client Orientation. The orientation is held every Monday from 9:50am-12pm in the conference. Childcare is free.
During this time, the client will learn how to navigate the multiple programs of The Ada Jenkins Center and their specific requirements.
**The client will need to bring a photo ID and a bill to their current address.
Our programs range from personal enrichment (health, fitness and family programs) to referrals for emergency assistance.
Please note that our emergency assistance programs may be limited to residents of Davidson, Cornelius and Huntersville. However, if you’re seeking educational programs, fitness or family programs through the office of Latino Support Services, we likely have space available for you.
