The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Davidson extends a hand of opportunity to youth in need of guidance. The clubs are nationwide local autonomous affiliates of Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Working to help youth of all backgrounds, with special concern for those from disadvantaged circumstances, the club seeks to develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders.
The club provides diversified activities that meet the interests of all young people. Core programs encourage activities with adults, peers, and family members that enable kids to enhance self-esteem and fulfill their potential.
Based on physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs and interests of boys and girls, and recognizing developmental principles, the club offers program activities in five areas:
- Character and leadership development
- Education and career development
- Health and life skills
- The arts
- Sports, fitness, and recreation
Anyone between the ages of 6 and 18 who is attending 1 - 12 grade schooling can join the Boys and Girls Clubs. Youth may be referred to the program by schools, counselors, churches, and friends.
Membership dues are kept low so that all can afford to belong. No one will be deterred from joining. Scholarships are available for members.
