Education Learn Works
The LEARN Works program is Ada Jenkins Center’s oldest program. Operating for more than 15 years, LEARN Works is a well-respected, positive and productive program for local elementary and middle school students with academic needs. Our students attend Davidson Elementary, Cornelius Elementary, JV Washam Elementary, and Bailey Middle Schools.
The purpose of the LEARN Works program is to partner with families, schools, and volunteers to support the academic progress of our students and to advance family engagement.
Many students have parents or family members enrolled in other programs at Ada Jenkins. Our bilingual Family Engagement Coordinator connects families to additional resources they need to break the cycle of poverty and build sustainable change.
Students are referred to our program by a school teacher or administrator. Program fees are $50 per child each year. However, no child is turned away due to inability to pay.
